Kina Gbezhgomi Child and Family Services (KGCFS) is a designated Child Welfare Service delivering Child Protection Services within seven member First Nations in the Districts of Sudbury and Manitoulin. KGCFS honours and supports our families’ and community’s inherent authority to care for their children based on unity, traditions, values, beliefs, and customs. Preference will be given to Anishinaabe Candidates (please self-identify in your application.

Finance Administrator

(1) Permanent Full-time Position

Salary Range: $76,997 – $94,695  + Pension & Benefits

JOB OVERVIEW

Under the supervision of the Finance Manager, the incumbent is responsible for providing supervision, administrative management, guidance, and leadership of assigned staff. The Finance Administrator is also responsible to support the development and ongoing implementation of financial systems of the agency’s operation.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of accredited college 3 Years Business Administration Accounting courses. Tax course not required.
Minimum of 5 years of operating full accounting cycle: AP, AR, Payroll, Bank Reconciliation.
Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in a Child Welfare Finance Sector.
Experience with Pension & Benefits is an asset.
Experience in working within an Anishinaabe Child and Family Well-Being Services is preferred or proven experience in working with Anishinabek people.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain records to ensure operating costs – all in accordance with the Board of Directors, Government regulations and agency policy and procedures.
Ensure all legislative requirements are followed pertaining to the agency’s policies, procedures, and
Analyze accounts as requested by the Executive Director and provide documentation on required adjustments.
Advise and assist senior management in the development and application of policy and procedures for the continuous accountability of fiscal management practices.
Ensure that the Society follows all laws, regulations, and Ministry requirements (e.g., GAAP, Ministry directives, Auditor General recommendations).

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Given the traditional practices of the Anishinabek, from time-to-time exposure to wood smoke and the burning of sacred medicines, including tobacco, sweet grass, sage, or cedar, may occur within the work setting.
