Kina Gbezhgomi Child and Family Services (KGCFS) is a designated Child Welfare Service delivering Child Protection Services within seven member First Nations in the Districts of Sudbury and Manitoulin. KGCFS honours and supports our families’ and community’s inherent authority to care for their children based on unity, traditions, values, beliefs, and customs. After Hours Youth Outreach Supervisor
(1) Contract Position on site: 3260 Bancroft Drive
Starting Salary: $86,649 Annually
OVERVIEW
The After-Hours Youth Outreach Supervisor provides progressive leadership in all aspects of management, including management of the transition home and Youth Outreach team after-hours and administration and supervisory case collaboration with agency and community stakeholders. This position requires evening and weekend hours, statutory holidays and flexible scheduling and will involve being positioned at the Roy House location in Sudbury for the full after hours shift when not engaging directly with youth versus an on call after hours model.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Social Work Degree or a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline deemed appropriate.
At least (3) years of successful employment experience within a child welfare environment with progressive levels of responsibility, including (2) years of front-line service delivery of Child Welfare Services
Comprehensive experience in Child Welfare Frontline Case Management systems and Child Welfare recordings.
Experience in working within an Anishinaabe Child and Family Well-Being Services is preferred or proven experience in working with Anishinabek people.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES
Expert knowledge of the Child, Youth and Family Services Act, Child Protection Standards, Ministry of Children and Youth Services Regulations, Guidelines and Policy Directives, Case Management and Supervision requirements particularly in relation to the delivery of Child and Family Services.
Expert knowledge of Indigenous history, legislative rights, First Nation community models and holistic and Indigenous models of healing and wellness.
Must possess knowledge, respect, and sensitivity to Anishinaabe culture and be committed to helping First Nation families strengthen and achieve a healthy level of well-being.
Ability to speak Anishinaabemowin is a definite asset or must have the willingness to learn.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Given the traditional practices of the Anishinabek, from time-to-time exposure to wood smoke and the burning of sacred medicines, including tobacco, sweet grass, sage, or cedar, may occur within the work setting.
Must be willing to comply by KGCFS COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.
